Want to write a romance novel but don't know where to start?
Started a romance novel but not sure how to continue?
Writing is a solitary profession. Sometimes you just need to talk to others who understand without having to explain how your mind works.
Join us for support and ideas, to discuss aspects of writing and learn about the industry, do writing exercises, or listen to an outside speaker or a program presented by a member.
And we have fun, enjoying the company of like-minded people.

Being a WARA member means something different to each of us.
The support in all ways that comes in gentle waves. WARA is like living on a writing beach. There is the bright light of truth that will come if you’re brave enough to ask a question, the warm waters of faith in each other’s ability that gently laps up on our toes, the fine grit of sand against our bottoms that reminds us this really isn’t as easy as it looks, and the chirping birdcalls of joy when we make achievements. There is even outrage and help available if a life’s storm brings up some unwanted detritus on the shore as well as the occasional fresh breeze that blows in reminding us that time’s a wasting—get going and WRITE.
WARA is helpful in all ways that means anything to anyone.

Provided support, encouragement, knowledge, guidance, gentle kicks in the pants. And friendships that have lasted years.

Not only has each of us learned more about the craft of writing, but we've also formed lasting and wonderful friendships. That may be the very best part of being a WARA member.
Current members run the spectrum of romance writers, from "newbies" first starting out with no or little idea of how to go about writing a romance, to those who have finished not one but several manuscripts, to those who have published books to their credit. WARA is there for everyone who is interested in writing romances.
WARA members share their knowledge, along with their ups and downs. We're a fun-loving group of writers who lend encouragement and support when needed. We'd love to have you as part of WARA!
If you're interested in joining WARA, we encourage you to attend one of our meetings in advance to get to know us and what we do. We limit visits of non-members to three per year.
WARA dues are $20 a year, payable in January. Membership is not limited in any way. Our membership form is available here for downloading. Simply print the form and mail, along with payment of dues, or bring it to our next meeting.
We hope to see you soon!
